Shape the future of AVL in Croatia: As Managing Director of AVL-AST d.o.o. Croatia in Zagreb, you will take on strategic and operational responsibility for advancing our local organization. Your focus will be on optimizing local resources, fostering close collaboration with our headquarters in Graz, and implementing global standards. With your expertise in engineering, knowledge of international standards, and familiarity with the Croatian industrial and academic landscape, you will not only drive operational success but also shape the long-term direction of the organization. Your leadership skills, technical expertise, and experience in international stakeholder management make you a key driver for the future of AVL in Croatia.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the local organization in collaboration with the intercompany Operations Manager
• Build structures and resources in line with Business Unit strategies
• Implement and monitor the application of company standards and processes
• Develop a business plan in coordination with the headquarters in Graz
• Act as the interface between the Croatian subsidiary and the global AVL network
• Serve as the local contact for external stakeholders, including authorities, government, and industry
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, particularly Business Unit Managers
• Improve operational efficiency and optimize cost structures
• Take responsibility for budget planning and adherence in collaboration with the headquarters
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and local legal regulations
• Manage accounting and reporting to the AVL Group
• Build and lead high-performing teams to achieve business objectives
• Foster a positive, productive, and constructive work environment
• Oversee local projects and promote collaboration within the AVL network

YOUR PROFILE:

• Solid knowledge in engineering and IT, particularly in software and hardware development
• Understanding of international standards (ISO 9000, 27000, 14000, Cybersecurity ISO 21434)
• Familiarity with the Croatian industry, legal requirements, and market conditions
• Fluent in Croatian with a strong network in industry and academia
• Proven experience in leading and developing teams
• Ability to promote internal and external collaboration and build long-term relationships
• Experience handling financial documents and knowledge of local labor and safety laws
• Strong alignment with corporate goals, combined with patience and empathy
• Capability to create a constructive and positive working environment

Annual Remuneration: Due to the Austrian Equal Treatment Act we are obligated to state the annual gross remuneration (full-time) for this position as a basis for negotiation: €95,000.00. The Employee will be classified according to the Collective Agreement for Employees of Industry (Collective Bargaining Agreement of the Automotive Industry). We will, in any case, offer market-conforming payment taking qualifications and professional experience into account.
