Hardware-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop Methodology Engineer (f/m)

Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) as virtual testing methods are becoming a key factor for the testing and calibration of the complete powertrain (combustion engine, transmission, hybrid controller, e-machine, inverter,..), infotainment and ADAS functionalities. Virtual testing methods are included in the strategic approach for frontloading of development tasks to be ready for future automotive market requirements. 

If you want to learn more about in-vehicle control units, vehicle communication networks, automotive control strategies, sensor and actuator emulation and powertrain modelling in the area of conventional, hybrid and electric vehicles, apply bellow. The position is focused on integration of the in-vehicle control units on HW and SW level into the Hardware-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop environment.  The skill-set is applied on the electrical emulation and modelling of the automotive sensors, actuators and communication networks on the SiL and HiL virtual test stations. The SiL and HiL testing methodology is applyied with the aim of increasing the testing efficiency for the state of the art automotive control technologies for all major automotive OEMs.
 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your responsibilities will be SiL and HiL environment setup which includes:

•    Analysis of the control unit interface/pinout and specification of wiring harness for connecting the control unit to HiL hardware
•    Analysis and specification of HiL hardware according to project requirements (digital/analog I/O boards, voltage/current measurement devices, communication protocol devices–CAN, LIN…)
•    Configuration of hardware and commissioning the system in open loop (troubleshooting in-vehicle control units to HiL HW connections, parametrization of sensors/actuators)
•    Model integration (engine, transmission, vehicle, e-motor, inverter…) and closed loop commissioning of all control systems. 
•    Modeling of specific physical systems (sensors/actuators, test benches,..) running in closed loop with control unit
•    Integration of the test automation tools 
•    Support of customer trainings
•    Development of methodologies, hardware and software to further automate the commissioning process and improve the SiL&HiL setup
 

YOUR PROFILE:

•    Education in the field of electronics, mechatronics or similar
•    Preferable experience in signal processing, control systems and reading circuit diagrams
•    Experience with Matlab/Simulink and modeling of physical systems
•    Appreciated knowledge of CAN BUS and similar communication protocols
•    Experience with dSPACE HiL Systems will be considered
•    Good knowledge of English language
•    Analytical approach to problem solving
