AVL is the largest supplier of measurement devices for automotive OEMs worldwide. Our young but experienced team in Zagreb is part of electrification business in the automotive sector (battery cell testing & inverters). We design converters using cutting edge transistor technologies (SiC, GaN) and high-end measurement equipment.

Embedded Hardware developer (f/m)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Simulation and schematic design of electrical circuits used in power converters (gate drive circuits, power switches, analog, mixed signal and digital design…)
•    Implementing layout according to IPC standard and AVL guidelines
•    Generating PCB production files, defining stack-ups for HV/high current PCBs
•    Verification & debugging of manufactured PCBs, defining reworks and testing them on PCB level
•    Planning & executing tests on prototype PCBAs on board level and in converters (commission your own work)
•    Defining test procedures for In-circuit (ICT) & manual testing, validating them and overhanding to PCBA supplier companies 
•    Getting to know the bigger picture –converter topologies, signal integrity,  basics of control strategies
•    Writing development documentation and reports
•    Guidance & review designs done by junior electronics developers
•    Cooperation with device production in AVL (mainly Graz, Austria) and external suppliers
•    Collaboration with external development partners (University, suppliers)
•    Give technical inputs to project management while planning tasks

YOUR PROFILE:

•    Degree (Technical-/University) in the field of electronics 
•    Several years of applicable experience in electronics design
•    Good knowledge of CAE tools (preferably Altium Designer)
•    Advanced knowledge in simulation of electronic circuits in Spice/Plecs/Matlab/Simulink
•    A mind keen on learning and self-development
•    High degree of commitment to ones tasks (self intitative, dedication)
•    Open personality, comfortable with discussing,  supporting and being supported by teammates
•    Proficient English, German is a bonus
•    Experiences with EMC, CE/UL certification & power electronics are desireable
