Automotive / Calibration Engineer
As part of our expanding team, you will play a crucial role in the research and development of powertrain control units. Your primary focus will be on the calibration of various powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and hybrid systems. This involves base calibration functions such as air path, torque model, controller model, knock and pre-ignition control, as well as emission, diagnostic, and cold start functions.
You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating calibration functions in powertrain test facilities (Test Bed, Chassis Rolls, powertrain testbeds, VTB, etc.) and vehicle development. Additionally, you will facilitate internal communication for the planning and organization of calibration tasks, ensuring seamless collaboration within the team.
Your role will also include customer communication, providing project overviews, analysis, and results to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintenance of engine, drivetrain components and vehicle and testbed data in appropriate systems
• Definition and execution of defined test plans – in all required testing environments
• Robustness testing to validate production tolerances, market specific requirements and environmental conditions
• Post-processing and analysis of measurement data utilizing tools such as AVL Concerto, Cameo, etc.
• Optimization of calibration parameters - utilizing tools such as INCA, CRETA
• Optimization and testing under all climatic conditions on environmental test trips (Ambient,/Altitude)
• Documentation of changed calibration parameters in CRETA (incl. progress, comments, etc.)
• Documentation of all measurement results according to defined development process
• Using defined methodology and tools for optimal efficiency and quality of each task
• Support development of methodology and tools for calibration tasks
• Support project manager and logistics in engine, drivetrain, vehicle and test facility planning and handling
YOUR PROFILE:
• Bachelor / Master’s degree in the relevant fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Thermodynamics, Chemical & Process Engineering,
• Detailed technical understanding of thermodynamics of combustion engine, transmission and hybrid powertrains
• Understanding of powertrain systems and interaction
• Understanding of electronic engineering, information technology and control engineering
• Required software skill of calibration tools (INCA, Concerto, DiagRa)
• Flexibility and readiness to travel
• Problem solving competence
• Collaborative working style
• English (level B2)
• Driving license
