Project Manager

*Note: This position is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension for an additional year or conversion to a permanent position based on performance and evaluation

The Project Manager (PJM) has the overall responsibility for the successful execution of the assigned customer and/or internal R&D project(s). The PJM represents AVL in front of the customer and thus has a key function in Customer Relationship Management during execution for the assigned project(s). He/ She has the duty to develop follow up business in co-operation with the respective Key Account Manager.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure achievement of project targets (technical, cost, quality, time) and customer satisfaction.
• Support and enable cross line organization cooperation for maximum synergies.
• Review and approve the offer prior to submission during the offer phase.
• Manage project initialization and planning with special attention to cross location project organization.
• Deliver effective communication with the customer during project execution.
• Manage project team and control project execution according to the project process.
• Report to POM regarding project management issues and project progress.
• Manage overall budget control.
• Form project team jointly with STLs according to required project resources.
• Provide instructions to PJM-P(s) and direct reporting project team members.
• Align with STL regarding the overall technical direction in the assigned project(s).
• Authority and responsibility to request and follow escalation procedures according to the project process.
• Execute project wrap up to get customer feedback and assess project execution performance.
• Co-responsible for effective hand-over from KAM.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Educational Background: Mechanical, electrical, or automotive engineering graduate from a university of technology or university of applied sciences.
• Engineering Knowledge: Basic knowledgy of internal combustion engines & calibration
• Project Management Experience: at least 3 years of experience in project management, including managing SOP projects.
• English Proficiency: Business proficiency especially in writing and oral 
• Sense of Responsibility: Capable of working independently as well as a part of large and small teams
