Electrification Systems Development Team Leader

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The technical focus areas of this role will be primarily on Power Electronics (including EDU, E-axle, E-Motor, Inverter, DCDC, On-Board Charger development etc…) and could also include Battery activities (including Cell, Module, Pack, Hardware, BMS development etc…)
• Support business development by providing expertise in customer meetings; communicate AVL’s technical competency
• Translate customer needs into technical requirements
• Support the project acquisition process including proposal preparation, planning of efforts and costs, follow-up projects and/or project extension for all project queries according to their field of responsibility
• Release the defined work scope, timeline, and budget (Target Costs Committed) for all project proposals within the skill team
• Ensure the successful execution and completion of projects assigned to the team by satisfying project-specific tasks assigned to the team within the project budget and timing according to AVL guidelines
• Guide the daily work of the technical project team member
• Assess and review work results of the project team and provides guidance to ensure the accuracy and quality of work according to the relevant guidelines and processes.
• Responsible for the development of expertise, methods, and tools within the skill team according to the global skill area guidelines.
• Responsible for the professional development of team members. This includes providing continuous feedback, performance appraisals, career planning and training/development needs.
• Assigns staff to projects based on team member capabilities/availability and project requirements.

YOUR PROFILE:

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical subject
• Over 8 years experience in Electrification Systems Development
• Self-starter with proven leadership and business management skills
• Problem solving and Project Management expertise
• Strong desire to teach, train and develop other team members
• Excellent communication and intercultural skills
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Willingness to travel
• Driving license

Preferred Requirements:

• Master or PhD in Engineering or Technical subject
• Interest and enthusiasm for business development
• Technical experience in Power Electronics with a profound knowledge and global view
• Technical experience in Battery with a profound knowledge and global view
• Technical experience in Thermal Management with a profound knowledge and global view
• Experience within the Automotive or Mobility industry
• Experience of leading large international projects
• Experience of leading and supervising teams
