ITS-X Application Engineer

As a Junior Software Application Engineer in the automotive and mobility industry, you will contribute to the implementation, customization, and testing of precision engineering software applications. You will work closely with advanced technologies shaping the future of mobility, with an emphasis on data intelligence, virtualization, and modern engineering methodologies.

In this role, you will collaborate with experienced technical specialists and cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions for the automotive and industrial sectors. You will play an active role in debugging, software validation, and customer-specific test automation, growing your technical expertise while ensuring our platforms meet the highest standards of reliability and performance.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analysis and Solution Development for Software Platform Projects

• Lead discussions and alignment with customers on software development topics and requirements (RFI/RFQ) 
• Support decision-making by balancing customer needs and internal capabilities 
• Coordinate and align customer requirements with headquarters’ solutions and strategies
• Drive requirement clarification, scope definition, and solution agreement
• Ensure customer requirements are accurately reflected in the proposed solutions

Sales Development

• Lead customer engagements, including technical and commercial discussions and negotiations. 
• Identify and pursue new opportunities through market and customer insights. 
• Manage assigned business models and develop new opportunities in collaboration with application engineers

Multifunctional Collaboration

• Coordinate internal and external communications, including emails and technical discussions
• Coach application engineers (AEs) to enhance their capabilities in line with market and customer requirements
• Prepare, review, and maintain technical documents (e.g., requirements, specifications, reports)
• Document meeting minutes, decisions, and action items, and track follow-ups

YOUR PROFILE:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Software, or a related field)
• Prior engineering experience in automotive R&D is highly desirable
• Self-motivated, with a systematic and structured approach to operations
• A business development orientation combined with an innovative, analytical mindset
• Foundational knowledge of systems, products, and applications within the AVL portfolio
• Market understanding 
• Proven ability to work in a structured manner, with exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Exceptional Written and Spoken English
