Functional Safety Engineer 

Joining the AVL SW Team, you will be able to expand your career with international experience and to work in state of the art applications for automotive.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Planning, coordinating, and implementing functional safety in customer projects from specification to validation

• Handling risk assessments, concept creation and safety analyses (e.g. FMEA, FTA)

• Specifying requirements of safety-related functions

• Moderating and participating in technical reviews

• Functioning as a contact person for software and hardware development

• Functioning as a contact person for the customers with technical questions

• Verifying safety concepts on HiL, test benches and in the vehicle

• Compiling documentation after the security process as well as presenting any results

YOUR PROFILE:

Necessary:

• Degree in electronics, electrical engineering, vehicle technology, telematics or similar. Master’s degree and PhD preferred

• Expert / know how in one of the listed topics (electrification, chassis, autonomous driving, fuel cell)

• Highly proficient in the fields of:

• Functional safety (ISO 26262, IEC 61508 or similar)

• Requirements and quality management

• Software and hardware development for an automotive environment

• Safety analysis

• Enthusiasm for automotive development and technical innovation as well as an interest in functional safety

• Flexible, proactive, structured and detail-oriented working style

• Strong communication, organizational and team-working skills

• Proficient English and Spanish language knowledge. German desirable.
