AVL Maroc SARL AU offers a job in Morocco (MA) as

Wiring Design Engineer (E/E Harness Design)

We are seeking a Wiring Design Engineer to take ownership of the design and release of electrical wiring harnesses for automotive E/E architectures. The role covers the translation of logical E/E requirements into manufacturable harness deliverables, from device connector selection to wiring rules, and the coordination of technical inputs with cross-functional stakeholders.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Harness Design & Specification

  •  Select connectors, terminals, seals, coatings, and inline connectors based on environmental, electrical, and packaging requirements (LV214, USCAR, ISO 19642).
  • Determine wire cross-sections (AWG/mm²) considering load analysis, voltage drop, EMC, and derating rules.
  • Define harness families/modules, splice points, and standardization across variants.
  • Create and manage wiring schematics, splice tables, and BOMs.
  • Perform electrical design rule checks (DRC) to ensure compliance with OEM and industry standards.
  • Prepare and export electrical data (netlists, wiring lists, device/connector tables) to feed 3D CAD routing and 2D formboard drawings.

Process & Deliverables

  • Ensure complete harness documentation package: logical wiring diagrams, wire lists, connector tables, splice lists, and data for manufacturing (cut/mark/crimp).
  • Align deliverables with APQP milestones (DFMEA inputs, DV/PV test requirements, PPAP release).
  • Support prototype builds and troubleshoot wiring/harness issues.

Cross-functional Coordination

  • Lead/coordinate design review meetings with E/E architects, mechanical packaging engineers, suppliers, and validation teams.
  • Collect inputs from systems engineering, functional safety, diagnostics, and power distribution teams.
  • Act as the point of contact between logical design (Capital, PREEvision, etc.) and CAD/3D teams (CATIA/NX/Creo).

Compliance & Standards

  • Apply and enforce wiring and connector design rules (ISO 19642, USCAR, LV214, ISO 16750, IPC/WHMA-A-620).
  • Ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency in collaboration with suppliers

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of experience in automotive wiring harness design.
  • Proficiency in E/E harness design tools: Siemens Capital Harness (Logic/HarnessXC/Manufacturing), Vector PREEvision, or Zuken E3.series.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD electrical routing (CATIA EHI, Siemens NX, Creo Cabling).
  • Knowledge of wiring standards and specifications (LV214, USCAR, ISO 19642).
  • Strong understanding of automotive E/E systems (power distribution, grounding, network topology).
  • Strong communication and coordination skills; able to lead design reviews and collect cross-functional inputs.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills (voltage drop, EMC, derating).
  • Organized and structured in managing variant complexity and change control.
  • Comfortable working in a global, multi-supplier environment.
  • Experience with APQP/PPAP deliverables and DFMEA/PFMEA.
  • Exposure to vehicle diagnostics (UDS/OBD) and ECU communication matrices.
  • Knowledge of PLM tools (Teamcenter, ENOVIA, Windchill).
  • Experience with prototype harness builds and validation tests.
