Senior Component Engineer

 

 

 

  

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Lead SE Teams: Lead cross-functional teams throughout the end-to-end development, validation, and release of assigned battery system components.
  • Target Management: Responsible for meeting component requirements and ensuring the achievement of technical, quality, cost, timing, and performance targets while resolving trade-offs and conflicts.
  • Development Planning: Develop, maintain, and drive the execution of component development plans, including work breakdown structures, milestones, and project schedules.
  • Project Controlling: Monitor project progress, risks, deliverables, and resource allocation to ensure the timely completion of component development activities.
  • Interface Coordination: Serve as the primary technical interface between internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers for assigned components.
  • Supplier Management: Technically steer suppliers throughout the development lifecycle and industrialization, ensuring the delivery of compliant, high-quality solutions.
  • Claim Management: Manage customer claims and technical issues related to assigned components, coordinating root cause analyses and corrective actions.
  • Concern & Change Management: Lead engineering change, concern resolution, and release management processes to ensure product maturity and traceability throughout both development and serial production.
  • Requirements Documentation: Define, maintain, and align product requirements and technical specifications with customer and project objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure product quality through appropriate tools and methodologies such as DFMEA and 8D reports.
  • Status Reporting: Communicate development status, risks, key decisions, and mitigation actions to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Validation Management: Plan, initiate, and monitor component validation activities to ensure compliance with requirements and project timelines.
  • Risk & Escalation Management: Identify target deviations, define corrective actions, manage technical risks, and escalate critical issues when required.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to company compliance, confidentiality, safety, and engineering governance requirements.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership to assigned component teams and support the coordination of multidisciplinary engineering activities.
  • Release Authority: Approve and release component requirements and specifications, and provide release recommendations for assigned components and related documentation in alignment with project goals.
  • Maturity Assessment: Track component maturity and conduct readiness assessments to support development milestones and production release decisions.
  • Decision Making: Make technical and development decisions within the scope of assigned components, ensuring alignment with project objectives and customer requirements.
  • Tools: Knowledge of eRGPQP and LUP SIGNE Ingénierie tools is desirable.

 

YOUR PROFILE:

 

  • Education: Degree or technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, Electromechanical, or Industrial Engineering. Related technical qualifications may also be considered.
  • Automotive Serial Development: Professional experience in automotive series development processes and sound knowledge of APQP.
  • Industrialization Competence: Good understanding of series production requirements and industrialization processes.
  • Project Management: Proven competence and experience in project management.
  • System/Component Responsibility: Experience in taking responsibility for systems, modules, or components.
  • English & French Language Skills: Business-fluent in English and French.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and moderation skills.
  • Personal Skills: High level of goal orientation and self-organization, combined with a strong sense of responsibility and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Willingness to Travel: Willingness to travel as required to support acquisition and project-related activities.
  • Battery Systems: Knowledge of battery systems is preferred.
