Functional Development Engineer - Hydrogen Energy Systems

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop operating strategies and functional concepts for advanced energy systems and electrified powertrain applications.
• Define system functions, operating modes, and state-machine logic based on system requirements.
• Specify sensor and actuator requirements to support functional implementation.
• Develop diagnostic, monitoring, fault management, and safe-state concepts.
• Support functional decomposition, interface definition, and functional architecture development.
• Ensure requirements traceability and contribute to verification and validation planning.
• Support functional integration activities and collaborate with system, software, and testing teams throughout the development lifecycle.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Master's degree or Engineering degree in Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Experience in functional development, systems engineering, or control systems development.
• Knowledge of requirements engineering and specification development.
• Experience in system and subsystem architecture definition.
• Strong understanding of functional architecture, functional decomposition, and interface management.
• Familiarity with verification and validation processes, as well as requirements traceability.
• Experience with MBSE/SysML methodologies and requirements management tools (DOORS, Polarion, Codebeamer, or equivalent).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English within an international engineering environment.
• Knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO 26262).
• Experience with FMEA and HAZOP methodologies.
• Experience in Fuel Cell, Hydrogen, Battery, or Energy Systems development.
