We are looking for you:

ROD - Expert Sensor Simulation (m/f/d)

for our new location Roding

Our new location for ADAS / AD Sensortesting is located in Roding. Based on latest scientific knowhow and with the highest quality standards we want to offer our customers (mainly OEM and Tier 1) sensor testing capabilities in reproduceable environmental conditions (rain, mist, backlight) and various driving scenarios. For building-up and running our Sensortest laboratory at our newly founded AVL location in Roding we are looking for an Expert in ADAS / AD Sensortesting.

Virtual parameter variation for sensor validation and homologation is one of the core enablers for bringing future autonomous vehicles on the road. Based on the measurement results in our indoor sensor lab in Roding we develop high-fidelity sensor models for radar, camera and lidar, which realistically represent sensor performance during adverse weather conditions such as rain, fog and counter-light. For further development of our virtual environment in Unreal Engine / CARLA we are looking for an expert in sensor simulation.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Develop high-fidelity sensor models for radar, camera and lidar with a specific focus on performance in adverse weather conditions using Unreal Engine / CARLA
•    Improve weather simulation in our virtual environment in Unreal Engine / CARLA
•    Define the requested physical experiments for sensor parameterization together with our sensor testing experts in Roding. 
•    Develop a virtual twin of our Sensor lab in Roding which controls the physical operation in the test field 
•    Develop KPIs for evaluating sensor efficiency in adverse environmental conditions
•    Present the measurement results to our customers
 

YOUR PROFILE:

•    Bachelor or Master degree in electrical / mechanical engineering, Physics or similar area
•    Profound knowledge in ADAS / AD sensor technologies mainly camera, radar and lidar
•    > 3 years experience in sensor simulation 
•    Technical proficiency in Unreal Engine / CARLA, VTD and Matlab or Python 
•    Know-how in system design and integration (combining HW and SW)
•    Team player with a passionate, independent and pro-active working style
•    Fluent in speaking and writing English and German languages
•    Personality counts more than anything!
