TSI Intern - Manufacturing
AVL Test Systems, is searching for an intern to support our Manufacturing team. This is a great opportunity for an intern to directly support the engineering team with productive tasks and work during the Summer months (May through August).
This TSI Internship is a learning position that will provide the exposure to new systems and projects. This Internship will assist the team in the development of lean manufacturing tools and fixtures, as well as assisting the production technicians in their daily production tasks. The Intern should be seeking a productive, learning experience towards the degree they are earning with an understanding that the experience is varied and may not be a perfect fit with the degree which they are seeking. Qualified candidates must be working towards a relevant degree and have an aptitude for the automotive industry. The position will be hybrid; based in Plymouth, MI when onsite. The weekly working schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:00am to around 4:00pm ET.
Qualified candidates must possess strong communication skills, along with a driven and positive attitude. The internship is paid hourly, without benefits.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.
ROLES:
• Embrace duties and assignments as determined by their department manager or the individual assigned to directly supervise them.
• Execute responsibilities as assigned, in an efficient and timely manner.
• Use skills that they learned in school to implement and assist on projects that relate to the department’s objectives.
• Safely perform tasks with quality as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
• Desire to learn.
• Working towards a degree (engineering preferred)
• Manufacturing experience/exposure.
• Proficient communication skills.
• Willingness to start ‘at the bottom’ to learn processes and functions of the department they are assigned to. These skills are used at the end of the term for more efficient project implementation.
