Solution Engineer II

The AVL TSI team is looking for an engineer with technical experience who is interested in a transition to a customer solution-oriented role.  This position provides customer solutions in the e-Motor, e-Axle, e-Drive, Inverter, Fuel Cell, and general electrification testing areas in addition to software and simulation.  The Solution Engineer position creates and develops customer solutions for a variety of customers (ranging from start-ups to OEMs) and continues supporting the growth of AVL Test Systems, with new customers.

The Solution Engineering role fulfills a vital role within AVL by creating packages of equipment, software, and services to meet the customer's requirements, and translating these needs into cost effective technical solutions.  Qualified candidates for this opportunity will have a passion to grow their career in a more sales driven capacity by providing technical solutions in the electrification, fuel cell, and software/simulation spaces. In addition, candidates must possess strong communication skills with the ability to work with the AVL internal team and customer to provide AVL solutions.

  Roles:

• Works with the AVL Account Managers to drive sales and achieve targets
• Makes presentations and conducts product demonstrations at customer locations
• Responsible for the technical content and accuracy of customer quotations
• Provides market feedback for future product development and innovative approaches to increase sales revenues
• Stays abreast of development activities at main competitors and creates/implements corresponding action plans
• Works with Business Development to create strategic plans and product enhancements to increase market share and maximize revenue
• Develops and maintains customer relationships

  Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
• Master’s degree preferred
• 3-5+ years’ experience in related area
• Strong communication skills
• Strong fundamental knowledge of e-Motor, e-Axle, e-Drive, Inverter and/or Fuel Cell application areas
• Demonstrated experience with AVL related products preferred
• Demonstrated successful experience in technical sales preferred
• Ability to multi-task and manage projects/assignments while under time restrictions
• Travel approximately 10 – 25% to meet the needs of customers / minimal overseas travel required
