Sales Development Manager (DiTEST)
AVL Test Systems, Inc. in Plymouth, MI is searching for a Sales Development Manager to join our team. This position will support the growth of our affiliate, AVL DITEST's, expertise and what can be offered/expanded in the United States. AVL DITEST equips garages and motor vehicle centers with upmarket test systems and diagnostic equipment. AVL DITEST is successful in 50+ countries and is now looking to grow in the United States through AVL Test Systems, Inc. The Sales Development Manager is an exciting opportunity that is aimed to expand current relationships and initiate new relationships to expand this growth.
The Sales Development Manager will be responsible for contacting existing and new customers to better understand how AVL DITEST can provide solutions or expand on current solutions provided. The Sales Development Manager maintains a market presence with the customer base and has a high level of comfort and trust, enabling AVL to be the customer's preferred choice for test systems and diagnostic equipment. This will include research required to understand the market, customer needs, and development of solutions.
The Sales Development Manager position will require a Bachelor’s degree as noted below, in addition to 7+ years of relevant experience. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, both verbally and written, to efficiently communicate to customers, AVL Test System leadership, and AVL DITEST leadership. In addition, candidates should be driven to find solutions for customers and thrive on developing relationships. The Sales Development Manager position will be based out of Plymouth, MI with a hybrid working schedule comprised of partial remote, onsite, & at customer locations.
Applicants must have the unrestricted authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.
ROLES:
- Account management either for a group of small-mid-sized accounts located in various regions or for one to a few large accounts. Builds and maintains strong relationships with these key accounts.
- Works closely with existing accounts to understand evolving needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
- The primary focus is to provide solutions and products which solve customer needs.
- Identification of new accounts and development of existing accounts through market research to identify trends, customer needs, and market activities.
- Identifies potential strategic partnerships, relationships, and collaborations within the mobility industry.
- Negotiates and finalizes agreements to enhance the company’s product/service offerings and market presence.
- Effectively communicates the vale proposition of the company’s products & services to potential accounts.
- Conducts presentations & product demonstrations to showcase capabilities and benefits.
- Address any concerns raised by accounts promptly and effectively.
- Will require periodic account development planning and review of plan with leadership.
- Documenting all sales activity in corporate CRM system per standards.
- Follow all required sales processes for quotes and proposal generation and tracking.
- Provides accurate sales forecasts and reports to leadership team.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, marketing, engineering, or related area.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 7-10+ years of experience in sales/technical/business.
- In-depth technical understanding of customer demands.
- In-depth knowledge of mobility market trends, products, and key corporations.
- Strong analytical & strategic thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build & maintain relationships with clients and partners.
- Demonstrated superior sales experience, or goal recognition required.
- Experience with a formal sales process, and CRM system preferred.
- Domestic Travel can range from approximately 5 – 50%, depending on specific account base. Minimal overseas travel required.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
