Inside Sales Specialist

In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate closely with our sales and service teams to deliver tailored quotations to customers seeking advanced AVL products and services. From testing devices and software subscriptions to preventive maintenance, spare parts, repairs, calibrations, on-site support, training, and extended warranties — you’ll help our clients find the right solutions to power their success.
You’ll play a critical role in driving growth across all AVL Test Systems accounts by:

Increasing inside sales order intake in partnership with our Key Account Managers and Sales Directors

Proactively engaging with existing and prospective customers to promote strategic AVL sales initiatives

Expanding the reach and impact of inside sales through personalized outreach and a deep understanding of customer needs

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position will include the following responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Contact leads from AVL industry events and AVL website interactions in coordination with the responsible Key Account Manager. Document the source of the lead, the type of interaction and resulting order intake for further analysis by AVL management.
- Work with AVL management to create lists of customers who have not purchased from AVL recently and follow up accordingly. Document current customer status and determine plan of action on how to win additional business.
- Work with AVL Account Managers on a regular basis regarding new and ongoing customer opportunities to determine which opportunities should be handled by inside sales and which ones should be handled by the Account Manager.
- Utilize the AVL sales process to dynamically identify customer needs, match solutions to those needs and communicate solution benefits to customers.
- Engage with AVL TSI Technical Sales Support team for product and service offerings.
- Generate quotation requests and deliver completed quotations to customers.
- Identify customer decision makers and find opportunities by mining existing databases, as well as identify trends for success from experience.
- Follow all ISO sales processes for proposal generation and tracking.
- Perform as sales resource and advisor to Hotline team on customer approach, satisfaction, order placement, expediting, revisions, and issuance of customer service quotations.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree required OR equivalent experience in Sales, Marketing, Business
- 0-3+ years’ experience in related field with a demonstrated ability to grow order intake.
- Proven, tested ability with Microsoft Office computer skills required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Formal training in Rackham Major Account Selling Strategies and SPIN selling techniques preferred.
- Experience with a formal sales process, and Salesforce.com as a CRM system preferred.
- Flexible skills and ability to manage numerous tasks in a dynamic working environment.
- Must be an independent worker, who is a self-starter.
