Human Resource Business Partner

AVL is looking for a motivated Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. We are specifically looking for a valued partner to the leadership team, who is continuously working to better understand the human resources needs while creating and implementing those human resource strategies necessary to enable the business unit to achieve its operating objectives and growth initiative for the short and long term. Qualified candidates will possess 5-7+ years postgraduate generalist/specialist experience. Experience in SAP is preferred. The Human Resource Business Partner provides guidance on talent management, staffing, compensation, conflict resolution, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and employee relations.
The location of this position will be at the home office in Plymouth, MI and will support a hybrid working schedule.

Roles:
- Provides support for recruitment efforts for all company requisitions including offer letters.
- Manages forecasting; including meeting with the controller and manager.
- Supports employee retention; including employee relations, exit interviews and termination processes.
- Global Mobility.
- Immigration support.
- Assessing reports provided by the HR team, team leaders and operations managers to determine employee performance and training needs.
- Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee policies and procedures processes on the HR intranet.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Provides support and guidance regarding HR related activities, programs, and benefits.
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, logs to conform to EEO regulations, and Vets 100 reports.
- Maintains up-to-date employee records by processing status changes in timely fashion.
- Monitors and maintains accuracy within the SAP system.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Manages administration of compensation program; monitors performance evaluation program, succession planning, and annual merits.
- Assists HR Director with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Business or related field.
- 5 to 7 years generalist/specialist experience.
- SAP experience preferred
- Immigration experience preferred
- Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent employee relations skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer proficiency using MS Office.
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
- Ability to work with a broad spectrum of individuals.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
