In this dynamic role, you’ll lead the design, integration, and commissioning of advanced test systems, ensuring they meet rigorous regulatory and certification standards. You’ll work hands-on with sophisticated technology, tackle complex technical challenges, and develop solutions that directly impact the future of automotive emissions testing.

Location Requirement: Candidates should be based in Southeast Michigan
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.
Roles:
- Design and implement complex emissions and certification test systems
- Integrate subsystems and lead system commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues
- Serve as a technical leader on-site, driving projects through to successful completion
- Partner closely with Project Managers to manage timelines and budgets
- Build strong customer relationships through clear communication and exceptional service
- Act as liaison and company representative with customers.
- Commission test systems including:
- Setup and troubleshoot test and measurement systems
- Implement and tune complex control loops
- Integrate auxiliary equipment into test systems
- Setup monitoring and control of relevant safeties
- Create commissioning documentation
- Provide training on system applications
- Obtain customer sign-off
- Write and implement complex custom tests
- Provide sales technical support.
- Provide project engineering technical support.
- Help desk consultation.
- Develop and present advanced training.
- Technical research.
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications/Skills:
- 5-7+ years of relevant experience in emissions systems, regulations, testing, and commissioning
- Strong background in the automotive industry
- Deep technical expertise and a passion for emissions and regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to take ownership of projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- Bachelors' degree in engineering or equivalent
- Master's degree in engineering or equivalent preferred
- Proficient in mechanical and electrical assembly
- Proficient in vibration analysis and torsional vibration analysis
- Experience in test automation equipment preferred
- In depth understanding of electrical and mechanical processes
- Expertise related to testing methods and applications
- Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings
- Strong software adaption and modification skills preferred
- Background in vehicle emissions equipment
- Experience with programming or testing of vehicle or engine emissions.
- Understanding of instrumentation and electrical processes
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of PC operation, structure, MS Windows, and computer networking required
