AVL Mobility Technologies is looking for an Account Manager to join our Plymouth, MI based team. This position will work a hybrid schedule with 2 days onsite in Plymouth, MI, the ability to work the remaining days remote, and will support onsite at customer locations as required. The Account Manager position reports directly into the Sr. Director, Business Development and works indirectly with the engineering, project management & operations teams. Strong communication and the ability to work in a team capacity is required, driving internal collaboration. It is key to move forward and continue growth as a team, working together towards providing mobility solutions to customers.
The Account Manager role will leverage their network, experience in sales and/or technical competency for success. The Account Manager is responsible for market development through acquisition of customer projects and for setting up long-term business relations with customers. The Account manager is heavily involved in strategic planning, competitive intelligence and should be a driver in the development of lean engineering processes and continuous improvement. In addition, the Account Manager will work directly with AVL sales tools and support proposal/quote development per AVL processes with collaboration from AVL internal teams as required.
This position requires 5+ years’ experience in mobility technologies in either technical or business. In addition, a relevant bachelor’s degree is required. AVL is looking for motivated individuals, excited to support a company at the front of technological advances.

ROLES:
- Effectively maintain positive business relationships at existing customers to ensure maximum expansion of AVL’s presence.
- Creates and execute sales plans including marketing events, sales campaigns, and individual prospecting activities to identify new prospective customers and sales opportunities.
- Implements the presales process by generating leads, responding to customer inquiries, and cultivating opportunities with the assistance of the technical team.
- Effectively position AVL’s solutions to prospect’s technical and business needs while differentiating AVL’s offering from the competition.
- Effectively utilize AVL resources in pursuit of business opportunities including local and global technical resources.
- Develops customer profiles and gathers customer feedback (voice of customer) as part of strategic selling.
- Updates business figures (order receipt, sales) and carries out target – actual comparisons.
- Creates and submits offer in accordance with guidelines. Makes consistent follow-ups.
- Supplies input to leadership and strategy team with respect to marketing targets (markets, customers, products, and competitors).
- Achieves targeted guidelines for sales, orders received and planned contribution margin.
- Conducts internal audits, as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related
- 5+ years’ experience in new technologies; technical or sales related
- Experience with a formal sales process, and CRM system preferred
- Demonstrated experience with AVL solutions preferred
- Demonstrated ability to execute business plans effectively with a record of past achievements
- Ability to multi-task and manage assignments while under time restrictions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Travel approximately 10 – 30% to meet the needs of customers
- Demonstrated competence in communications and problem solving.
