Test Engineer - Fuel Cell Development 

 

The position focuses on testing and development of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) systems. The Test Engineer is responsible for test execution, data evaluation and test bench operation, working closely with development teams and supporting continuous system improvement. Located in Kecskemét.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the preparation and coordination of SOFC development projects
  • Continuously monitor ongoing projects, collect and evaluate data
  • Develop and fine-tune necessary testing methods, measurement procedures, and equipment
  • Communicate with customers on technical matters when required
  • Prepare reports and present project and test data according to customer expectations
  • Ensure smooth collaboration between different teams and subgroups
  • Assemble the Unit Under Test (UUT) and install subsystems
  • Integrate measurement and test equipment, as well as the UUT, into the test bench
  • Supervise test runs, troubleshoot errors, or inform the responsible colleague if needed
  • Perform daily inspections and maintenance tasks

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Test Engineer, preferably in energy systems, fuel cells, or electrochemical devices
  • Hands-on experience with test bench setup, instrumentation, and data acquisition
  • Strong understanding of test methods, measurement procedures, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to assemble and integrate experimental systems and subsystems
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, or Excel
  • Logical and analytical thinking with a problem-solving mindset
  • Reliable, responsible, and motivated personality
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills
  • English language skills at B2 level or higher; German is an advantage
