Long Term Intern - Systems Engineer - ADAS/AD

We are looking for an enthusiastic Intern to support the development of automated driving technologies (ADAS/AD). During your internship, you will work closely with our engineering team and contribute to different phases of ADAS/AD system development, from requirements to validation. 

• Supporting the development and documentation of functional/non-functional requirements of ADAS/AD features,
• Assisting in system design and modeling activities,
• Supporting the preparation and execution of simulations for ADAS/AD scenarios,
• Helping with research on new technologies and standards in automated driving,
• Working with AVL global experts and contributing to R&D activities.

Qualifications:

• 3 - 4th year undergraduate student in Electrical / Mechatronics / Control / Automotive Engineering or related technical field is preferred. Graduation Date: December 2027
• Available to intern at least 3 days per week during the internship period,
• Interest in automated driving and vehicle technologies,
• Good understanding of fundamentals of AI technologies (LLMs, VLAs, autonomous agents)
• Basic knowledge in system engineering, ADAS/AD simulation, systems safety,
• Having programming experience in any language (Python, C#, etc) is a plus,
• Good command of English (German is a plus),
• Motivation to learn, team spirit, and willingness to take initiative.
