We are looking for a driven individual to join our dynamic sales and business development team. AVL UK Limited deliver high tech solutions to support the most advanced automotive, motorsport and commercial vehicle development programs. You will be challenged daily working on exceptionally varied and diverse projects in a team atmosphere.
At AVL UK ITS, we offer advanced technical solutions, then integrate them into the facilities and operations of our customers. The sales team draw on the vast amount of experience from across multiple sectors, we work with demanding customers, and we are continually innovating new solutions or delivery mechanisms.
Our projects range from single system upgrades up to complete development facilities, working with automotive, formula 1, commercial vehicle and other high technology customers. Contract values range from tens of thousands of pounds to over £20 million.
General Description
To lead the AVL sales and marketing with several key accounts.
To discover new sales leads for AVL-UK and to turn them into profitable orders.
To represent technically and commercially the AVL product portfolio and AVL brand.
To provide support to the Sales Department and Senior Sales Manager in the advancement of the sales strategy and sales function.
Main Duties, Operational Tasks and Responsibilities
- To foster good working relationships with all customers
- To regularly visit key customers at their various sites around the UK and be their focal point for inquiries
- To actively pursue sales leads and to report and co-ordinate and communicate with the Sales Management team, Business Unit Manager, Global Account(s) and wider areas of the company.
- To create and present quotations internally for management sign off.
- To update regularly all opportunities, quotations within Salesforce ensuring accurate forecasting.
- Define account strategy and derive yearly plans to grow business within key Accounts.
- To negotiate and close orders with customers.
- To define, organise and complete timely hand-overs to operations for all project orders.
- To liaise closely with the project manager(s) dealing with current projects to ensure harmonious inter department working and support for customer issues.
- Drive customer satisfaction with issue resolution and improvement initiatives
- To maintain a suitable level of expertise with AVL sales software.
- To maintain a suitable level of expertise with AVL product portfolio.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with worldwide colleagues.
- To represent AVL-UK senior management as reasonably required by the Company Directors and attend department and management group meetings as required.
- To provide ideas and suggest methods by which the sales, negotiation and marketing processes can be made more effective.
- To comply with all Quality Assurance and Environmental Protection procedures pertinent to the sales process.
- To carry out any other duties as reasonably required commensurate with the nature of the job and level of responsibility.
- To provide regular support, reporting, alignment and input into global account(s).
- To deliver and exceed on business and personal KPIs.
Requirements of the Job
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical sales to the automotive or allied industries
- High level of negotiating, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ideally educated to HND level or higher
- Strong numerical skills
- Skilled user of the Microsoft office suite and generally IT literate
- Preferably skilled and experienced in at least one area of engine or vehicle test technology
- Experience of Salesforce.com desirable
- Full UK valid Driving license
- Ability to travel internationally as required
