Thesis - Wheel Corner Integration, aspects for the (geometrical) vehicle integration
Master Thesis
Wheel corners combine the electric propulsion, steering, braking and suspension system of a car in a compact unit in, or close to the wheel. Up to four wheel corner modules can be integrated in one car. Replacing conventional powertrain, steering or suspension systems by wheel corner modules generates great opportunities but also challenges, especially on complete vehicle level.
WHAT WE OFFER YOU:
- Analyse opportunities and challenges of wheel corner modules on complete vehicle level
- Analyse effects on the vehicle architecture incl. occupant space, luggage space, vehicle component package and overall vehicle dimensions
- Outline potential impacts on the vehicle structure and on the crash and durability performance
- Determine the possible influences on the driving dynamics
- Name effects on the noise vibration harshness (NVH) and the aerodynamics of a vehicle
- Show opportunities/challenges for the thermal system integration
- Consider legal/homologation requirements
- Create a generic 3D package model of a wheel corner module

The successful completion of the thesis is remunerated with a one-time fee of EUR €3,300.00 before tax.
