We offer the following research topic
Thesis - Thermal and Erosion Resistance of Materials in Battery Applications
Master Thesis
Material degradation due to thermal and erosive processes is a critical concern in automotive applications, particularly in the context of battery thermal safety As electric vehicles become more prevalent, understanding material behavior during thermal runaway or propagation events is essential This master thesis investigates various materials, emphasizing their thermal resistance and resistance to erosion This study aims to investigate performance and characterize materials such as Aerogel Polyurethane Silicone and Glass Fiber mats, as well as metallic and polymeric coatings under extreme conditions By conducting comprehensive tests and analyzing material responses, this research aims to provide insights crucial for informed decision making in automotive design and engineering Additionally, a 1 D or 3 D model will be built to predict the material behavior during thermal and erosion abuse solely on the material properties The data acquired from the test series will then be used tocreate a material map for simulation purposes and validation of the build 1 D or 3 D simulation model
