We offer the following research topic
Thesis - Development of software tools to assess acoustic quality critera
Master Thesis
State of the art NVH simulation workflows, as applied for instance in case of an e-motor study, follow a step wise procedure starting with electromagnetic simulation followed by forced response analysis and finally an acoustic analysis. Building up on this workflow, an extended analysis with regard to acoustic quality criteria requires additional results as loudness (e. g. following ISO 532-1 2017), sharpness, roughness, articulation index and others.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Literature research on acoustic quality criteria to survey the current state of knowledge and the current technical implementation possibilities
- Selection of the approaches to be implemented and elaboration of the associated interfaces and workflows
- Implementation using Python
- Exemplary application based on two selected tasks
YOUR PROFILE:
- Ongoing studies in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or similar
- Knowledge in acoustics
- Intermediate programming skills in Python
- Team spirit and strong problem-solving skills
- Not afraid of demanding tasks and independent work
- Good language skills in English necessary and in German beneficial
