System Development Engineer Steering Systems (f/m/d)
Innovative steering technologies such as Steer-by-Wire and Rear-Wheel Steering (RWS) are key enablers of next-generation vehicle concepts and new approaches to automated driving. As the automotive industry transitions towards the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV), system architecture, function development and software integration are becoming increasingly important.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced System Development Engineer Steering Systems (Steer-by-Wire / Rear Wheel Steering) who will actively contribute to the development of these technologies and play a key role in delivering innovative solutions for leading automotive OEMs.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop steering functions and system architectures for Steer-by-Wire and Rear-Wheel Steering systems
- Define functional and safety concepts
- Create, maintain and manage system models and requirements
- Integrate sensors, actuators and electronic control units (ECUs) into the vehicle architecture
- Take responsibility for system design, performance and safety concepts
- Plan and execute simulation, verification, validation, and testing activities, including SiL, HiL and vehicle testing
- Coordinate and manage development activities and work packages
YOUR PROFILE:
- Completed training (University, University of Applied Sciences or comparable) in automotive engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in the development of steering systems or comparable vehicle dynamics systems
- Experience in technical leadership, coordination, or development management, or a strong interest in taking on such responsibilities
- Knowledge of Steer-by-Wire, Rear-Wheel Steering (RWS), or active steering systems is considered an advantage
- Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, control systems, and functional safety (ISO 26262)
- Experience with modeling tools and Systems Engineering methodologies
- Strong analytical and structured approach to solving complex system-level challenges, combined with a high sense of ownership
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in an international environment
- Very good knowledge of English, knowledge of German is an advantage

Annual Remuneration: Due to the Austrian Equal Treatment Act we are obligated to state the annual gross remuneration (full-time) for this position as a basis for negotiation: €60,970.00. The Employee will be classified according to the Collective Agreement for Employees of Industry (Collective Bargaining Agreement of the Automotive Industry). We will, in any case, offer market-conforming payment taking qualifications and professional experience into account.
