Senior Systems Engineer
AVL is the world's largest privately owned and independent company for the development of powertrain systems, E-mobility applications, and instrumentation and test systems. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with a proactive attitude, who is a self-learner and highly motivated able to support and thrive in the area of Systems Engineering.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role requires working with AVL and customer team members to deliver projects according to the plan. This will include some of the following key activities:
• Software and Control Development of various systems and features of the electrified powertrain (energy management, thermal management, torque control etc.)
• Electric and Electronic Architecture development, Integration, Commissioning, Testing and sign-off of electrified system and interactions within the vehicle powertrain
• Developing and Managing requirements for System, Software, or Electronic Hardware applications
• Testing and Validation of developed features and architectures against requirements to ensure successful product delivery
• Interfacing with customers and reporting on project deliverables
• Facilitating project delivery with other team members and leading the way from a technical and process perspective
• Managing supplier to delivery components for customer projects
YOUR PROFILE:
Essential:
• MSc / MEng or PhD in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience of automotive control systems
• A working knowledge of vehicle architectures, communication protocols and components
• Experience with V-cycle automotive development, System Engineering and Quality tools
• Experience with Matlab Simulink, dSpace, Vector or ETAS engineering tools
• Willingness and ability to interface constructively with a global team
• Experience leading project delivery activities
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Exceptional customer facing attitude
• Driving license valid for driving in the UK
Preferable:
• Experience using the Agile methodology for product development
• Knowledge of high voltage components (power supplies, DCDC converters, inverters, chargers, etc)
• Experience in high voltage tests, component verification, EMI, etc
• Project Management, Product Quality, DOORS or similar
• Knowledge of ASPICE
• Experience managing a team from both a technical and process perspective

Annual Remuneration: Due to UKVI compliance requirements, we are obligated to state the annual gross salary (full-time) for this position. The salary range is between £45,000 - £55,000 and we will offer market-conforming remuneration taking qualifications and professional experience into account.
