Validation Engineer ADAS

A Validation Engineer ADAS/AD supports the ADAS/AD-Development & Functional Integration (also supporting E/E, mech., homologation, thermal-Integration) in terms of Verification and Validation on system and vehicle level and provides status reports to the according Feature owner.

Responsibilities:

• Definition of Test Environments in each project phase from Simulation to global public road tests.
• Planning and execution of tests on virtual test bed, HiL test bed, test track and public roads.
• Definition of test cases and verification procedures incl KPI's for acceptance criteria (DVP) derived from the ADAS/AD system requirements.
• Definition of validation guidelines and test coverage (road profiles and weather conditions) based on high level ADAS/AD stakeholder requirements.
• Definition of ADAS/AD stress tests within the defined ODD's and DDT's in cooperation with Reliability Engineer.
• Definition of detailed test plans for test campaigns.
• Definition, scripting and execution of fault injection tests.
• Scripting test maneuvers and KPI analytics in SMS-Tool.
• Creating test orders using test guidance scripts from SMS and monitor test progress.
• Participation in test campaigns and guidance of BVC-test drivers.
• Flashing of new SW and Data to the control units.
• Documentation of test results, test coverage incl KPI-confirmation and maturity according to AVL standards.
• Preparation of presentation and customer reports.

Profile:

• Qualification Requirements.
• FH/TU Automotive Engineering, Electronics, Robotics, Software Engineering (or equivalent).
• HTL/Technician (or equivalent).
• Understanding of ADAS-sensors, sensor architectures and their limitations.
• Detailed technical and physical understanding of vehicle systems.
• Knowledge of ADAS legislative requirements.
• ‘Hands on’ problem solving competence.
• Collaborative working style
•  Flexibility and readiness to travel.
•  English (level B2).
• Advanced Driving license eg.: B1, B2 (prototypes) and E1 (prototypes).
• Knowledge in analytics tools like Concerto, Matlab; (Python beneficial).
• Knowledge in Maneuver Guidance tool - SMS.
