System/Component Lead Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System/Module/Component Lead Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the complete product development process of assigned systems, modules, or components from the Start of Feasibility (SF) to Start of Production (SOP) and beyond. You will lead Simultaneous Engineering Teams (SE-Teams) and ensure the achievement of technical, quality, cost, and timing targets.
Operational Tasks:
- Lead and manage assigned SE-Teams.
- Set and cascade target agreements within the module and to component levels.
- Ensure the achievement of main development objectives for assigned systems/modules/components.
- Monitor targets, resolve conflicts, define countermeasures, and escalate issues as needed.
- Develop and maintain effective development plans, including work breakdown structures, milestone schedules, and open items lists.
- Execute comprehensive project control for assigned systems/modules/components.
- Oversee the complete product development process across all phases.
- Coordinate interfaces with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Provide technical steering for assigned suppliers.
- Manage component-specific claim processes in agreement with the Project Manager.
- Monitor and drive Change, Concern, and Release processes.
- Create and align product requirement and specification documents.
- Ensure quality and APQP processes using appropriate tools (e.g., DFMEA, Fishbone diagrams, 8D reports).
- Lead and coordinate assigned operative engineers.
- Report development status internally and to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead assigned module/component teams and operative engineers.
- Responsible for achieving system/module/component targets in alignment with project goals.
- Release product requirements and specifications.
- Recommend release of assigned modules/systems/components after approval.
- Document parts maturity for release.
- Gather technical releases for Quality Gates.
- Make decisions to achieve optimal solutions within targets.
- Comply with defined product development processes.
- Initiate and monitor validation activities according to schedules and DVP&R.
- Follow compliance and confidentiality guidelines.
Profile:
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Engine/Transmission/Electrical/Vehicle Engineering, or similar.
- Industrialization competence and experience with serial production requirements.
- Project management competence and experience.
- Professional experience in automotive serial development processes and APQP.
- Relevant experience as a system/module/component lead or SE-Team leader.
- Excellent communication and moderation skills.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- High level of goal orientation and self-organization.
- Strong sense of responsibility and entrepreneurial thinking.
