Senior Systems Engineer - Battery Systems
The Senior Systems Engineer - Battery Systems is responsible for systems engineering activities in battery system development and test system projects. He/she leverages the project engineering process with focus on tracking requirements and their implementation throughout the project lifecycle. This includes adhering to current directives, international standards, the latest internal standards, technologies, and interfaces, while also considering customer-specific standards and requirements.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design of battery systems and related sub-systems and their integration into multiple testing and development applications, including HV batteries, battery management systems (BMS), battery packs, battery modules, charging systems and electrified powertrains.
- Collaboration with cross-functional, global project teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Close working with global engineering teams to share knowledge, best practices, and support joint projects.
- Interaction with customers to understand their system requirements and present technical information and solutions in a clear and concise manner.
- Provision of technical support and troubleshooting assistance for battery and test system issues.
- Collaboration with internal and external manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transfer of designs into production.
- Provision of technical guidance and support for system installation and commissioning.
- Identification and resolution of complex system issues through root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
- Contribution to system-level risk assessments.
- Implementation of corrective actions and preventive measures to prevent future failures.
- Reuse of solutions and best practices implemented in other projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, battery safety requirements and customer specifications.
- Developing technical instructions with the project team, considering function, schedule, and quality.
- Provision of technical clarification to customers on a system level, addressing requirements, functions, and interfaces.
- Breakdown of requirements, functions, system architecture, and allocation to engineering work packages.
- Continuous review and analysis of project requirements, customer use cases, and functions with the project team.
- Planning, review, and coordination of integration, verification, and validation activities until final acceptance.
- Define and manage battery system requirements, interfaces, and traceability throughout the development lifecycle.
- Support battery system verification and validation activities, including test planning, execution, results analysis, and reporting.
- Contribute to battery system architecture definition and system performance optimization.
YOUR PROFILE:
- Technical high school diploma and/or Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4-7 years of experience in Battery Systems, Electrification Systems, Energy Storage Systems, Automotive Systems Engineering or related area of expertise.
- Experience in requirements engineering, system integration, verification and validation.
- Experience with battery-related development projects or HV systems is considered an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Willingness to travel.
- English language skills (business fluent)
