Senior High Voltage E/E Engineer
The Senior High Voltage E/E Engineer is responsible for systems engineering activities related to high voltage systems development and integration. The role focuses on the specification, design, integration, verification, validation, and troubleshooting of battery and HV systems across multiple development and testing applications.
The successful candidate leverages the project engineering process with a strong focus on requirements management, functional safety, HV safety compliance, and traceability throughout the project lifecycle. This includes adherence to current directives, international standards, HV safety regulations, internal engineering standards, emerging technologies, and customer-specific requirements.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design high voltage systems and related sub-systems for integration into multiple testing and development applications, including HV batteries, battery management systems (BMS), battery packs, battery modules, charging systems, HV distribution systems, power electronics, and electrified powertrains.
- Develop and manage system architectures for HV systems, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and customer requirements.
- Define, manage, and maintain battery and HV system requirements, interfaces, and traceability throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global project teams to ensure effective integration of HV systems.
- Work closely with global engineering teams to share knowledge, best practices, and support international projects.
- Interface directly with customers to gather requirements, clarify technical specifications, and present battery and HV system solutions.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for battery, HV, and test system-related issues.
- Support the integration of HV components such as batteries, chargers, inverters, DC/DC converters, power distribution units, and associated control systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable high voltage safety standards, electrical regulations, battery safety requirements, and customer specifications.
- Participate in hazard analyses, system-level risk assessments, and safety reviews for HV systems.
- Support the definition and implementation of HV safety concepts, including electrical isolation, interlock systems, grounding, protection strategies, and safe operating procedures.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and commissioning teams to ensure successful transfer of designs into production and installation environments.
- Provide technical guidance during system installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
- Identify and resolve complex HV system issues through root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve system reliability, safety, and performance.
- Reuse and promote best practices, methodologies, and solutions developed across projects and global teams.
- Develop technical instructions and engineering documentation considering functionality, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
- Provide technical clarification to customers regarding system requirements, functions, interfaces, and HV safety aspects.
- Break down requirements, functions, and system architecture into engineering work packages.
- Continuously review and analyze project requirements, customer use cases, operational scenarios, and functional specifications.
- Plan, coordinate, and review integration, verification, validation, and acceptance activities for battery and HV systems.
- Support HV system verification and validation activities, including test planning, execution, results analysis, reporting, and issue resolution.
- Contribute to HV system performance optimization, reliability improvement, and technology innovation initiatives.
YOUR PROFILE:
- Technical high school diploma and/or Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4-7 years of experience in Battery Systems, High Voltage Systems, Electrification Systems, Energy Storage Systems, Automotive Systems Engineering or related area of expertise.
- Experience with battery development projects, HV power distribution systems, charging systems, power electronics, or electric propulsion systems.
- Solid understanding of high voltage electrical systems, HV safety principles, electrical protection concepts, and electrified vehicle architectures.
- Familiarity with battery management systems (BMS), charging technologies, and energy storage systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Willingness to travel.
- English language skills (business fluent)
