E/E Design and Development Engineer

The E/E Design and Development Engineer performs technical E/E activities in customer and research projects for automotive applications at AVL. System responsibility for Electrics/Electronic like: E/E architecture, electronic control units, sensors, actuators, etc. Starting from the left side of the V-cycle, overall development and coordination responsibility of the E/E development including validation and verification on the right hand side. Supporting offer preparation for E/E system engineering projects.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Definition, Development and Integration of electrical and electronical components in the area of vehicle powertrain, transmission, chassis and body.
• Specification of Requirements for Wiring Harness, Connectors, Fuses, Sensors, Actuators and control units as well as communication technologies between these components.
• Specification of Requirements for electr. components like DCDC and DCAC Converters, Charging Systems, HV Auxilaries and HV and LV Battery EE Systems (BMS, MCU, Switches, Busbars, Fuses).
• Active contribution to risk assessments and technical analysis like FMEA, FTA.
• Ensuring of product quality, timing, cost and weight for E/E elements as well as manufacturability and supplier management in simultaneous engineering teams (SE teams).
• Development of test plans, definition of test cases and test execution.
• Support and planning of R&D projects.
• Support for offer preparation incl. planning of necessary development task in these areas.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Knowledge about Electrics and Electronics (E/E) in the automotive and industrial area.
• Knowledge about E/E standards Knowledge about requirements engineering and corresponding tools.
• Domain specific knowledge depending on the application (e.g. powertrain, chassis, transmission, Batteries, e-Axle).
• Knowledge about software and electronic hardware development.
• Fluent English Language Excellent Communication Skills.
