Technical Leader Simulation Engineer (Internal Combustion Engine) 

As part of our growing structure, you will be an integral part of the AVL research and development team. Your main research topic will be focused on complex analysis of combustion and air filling systems of an internal combustion engine. You will be responsible for troubleshooting complex technical issues and offer recommendations with the objective of improving the global efficiency of an internal combustion engine.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Management of a team of engineers carrying out 0D, 1D and 3D / CFD simulations from a technical perspective.
• Coordination of the day-to-day operations ensuring the quality of deliverables with respect to project deadlines.
• Organizing trainings for newcomers and continuous technical support to the team in place.
• Preparing and optimizing engine test methodologies and simulation procedures.
• Carry-out 0D simulations, 1D simulations with the objective of developing new models (recalibration, development and validation of the models).
• Analysis from a systematic point of view of engine test results while going through thorough research with a solid appropriation of AVL core knowledge.
• Define innovative concepts with the end result being the improvement in efficiency of simulation models, combustion and air filling systems.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in one of the relevant fields, aeronautics/ automotive/ transportation engineering
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics concepts and internal combustion engines
• Strong knowledge of pollutants and aftertreatment systems
• Experience in managing a team of engineers would be a plus
• Have an analytical and critical thinking mindset
• Strong team player
• Good written and spoken English, knowledge of French language would be a plus
