About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant Specialist to join our Shared Service Center and support centralized accounting activities across multiple entities.

In this role, you will take ownership of General Ledger and end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions, reconciliations, period-end closing and reporting. You will work in an international environment and contribute to maintaining high accounting standards in line with SLAs, local GAAP, IFRS and internal control requirements.

The position also offers the opportunity to take an active role in SSC transitions, process improvements and automation initiatives, while supporting and sharing knowledge with junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end accounting activities across General Ledger, Intercompany, Asset Accounting and AR/AP processes
• Prepare and post recurring and miscellaneous journal entries and bank transactions
• Perform invoice reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of accounting issues
• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities in accordance with reporting deadlines and SLA requirements
• Prepare and monitor balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and open items
• Handle accounting activities related to IFRS 16 lease accounting
• Participate in SSC transition projects and support the transfer and standardization of accounting processes
• Prepare and maintain process documentation, SOPs and work instructions
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, internal policies and internal control requirements
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation, explanations and accounting analyses
• Cooperate closely with internal stakeholders, business partners and global counterparts to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Identify and drive process improvement and automation opportunities
• Monitor agreed KPIs and service levels, escalating issues and exceptions when necessary
• Provide guidance, training and day-to-day professional support to junior team members
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and the continuous development of accounting processes within the organization

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred; equivalent proven professional experience is also accepted
• 4–6+ years of accounting experience, preferably with a strong General Ledger background
• Experience gained in a Shared Service Center environment is an advantage
• Strong ERP knowledge, preferably SAP
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations and internal controls
• Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills
• Ability to independently investigate and resolve complex accounting issues
• High level of accuracy and ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Very good command of written and spoken English (C1 level)
• Knowledge of an additional language is an advantage
