General Ledger Accountant

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Post routine and recurring journal entries
• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
• Handle intercompany postings and support intercompany reconciliations
• Support accounting activities related to accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
• Monitor open items and follow up on discrepancies with relevant stakeholders
• Support internal and external audits by providing the required documentation
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, including OCR, workflows and RPA
• Update SOPs and work instructions

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent relevant professional experience
• 4–6+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in an SSC environment
• Strong ERP knowledge, preferably SAP
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, tax rules and internal controls
• Professional level of English
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to resolve complex issues independently
• High level of accuracy, speed and decision-making ability in a high-volume environment
• Very good written and spoken English, C1 level
• Another language is an advantage
• Willingness to travel abroad
