AVL is seeking an experienced engineer with a pro-active attitude, self-learner and highly motivated. You will be responsible for developing, validating and signing off the future generation of electrified powertrains for passenger vehicles.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role requires working with AVL and customer team members in order to deliver projects according to the plan. This will include some of the following key activities:
• Software and Control development of various systems and features of the electrified powertrain (energy management, thermal management, torque control etc.)
• Calibration development (adjust system performance to meet attributes and targets)
• Electric and Electronic Architecture development, Integration, Commissioning, Testing and sign-off of electrified system and interactions within the vehicle powertrain
• Devise and execute customer clinics to assess acceptability and performance
• Devise and execute the customer testing of the hybrid control and calibration (testing environments include SIL, HIL, LabCar, powertrain dyno cells, vehicle)
YOUR PROFILE:
Essential:
• MSc / MEng or PhD in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience of automotive control systems and calibration
• A working knowledge of vehicle architectures, communication protocols and components
• Experience with V-cycle automotive development, System Engineering and Quality tools
• Experience with Matlab Simulink, dSpace, Vector or ETAS engineering tools
• Experience with vehicle integration and commissioning
• Willingness and ability to interface constructively with a global team
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Driving licence valid for driving in the UK
Preferable:
• Experience of automotive control systems and calibration
• Experience in development according to ISO26262
• Project Management

Annual Remuneration: Due to UKVI compliance requirements, we are obligated to state the annual gross salary (full-time) for this position. The salary range is between £40,000 to £50,000 and we will offer market-conforming remuneration taking qualifications and professional experience into account.
