Experienced E-Motor Design Engineer (m/f/d)

  

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

  • Design and electromagnetic simulation of electrical machines, from radial flux PMSM to WRSM, IM and AFM, for various applications: passenger cars and heavy-duty traction motors, testbed drives and many more 
  • Development and improvement of e-motor and e-drive simulation tools and scripts 
  • Technical project management of small e-motor projects 
  • Presentation of simulation results and technical discussions directly with customers (OEM, Tier1) 
  • Regular alignments with mechanical, thermal, power electronics and transmission teams
  • Supervision of students and contribution to e-motor R&D topics definition 

 

 

YOUR PROFILE:

 

  • Passionate about electric motor technologies and e-mobility in general 
  • Min. 3 years of experience in the development of electrical machines 
  • Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or similar 
  • Experience with electromagnetic FEM simulation software (e.g. JMAG, Ansys Maxwell, Flux) 
  • Experience with programming languages and scripting (Matlab, Python)
  • Deep understanding of the interfaces between e-drive components (e-motor, inverter and gearbox) 
  • Deep understanding of e-motor thermal and mechanical aspects and simulations, e.g. with software like MotorCAD and Abaqus
  • Good understanding of optimization methods 
  • Good understanding of e-motor control 
  • Highly motivated, independent and target-oriented
  • Strong communication and team skills 
  • Good German and English skills
  • Personality is more than anything!
