IT Senior Analyst
We are looking for a driven individual to support our dynamic IT team. AVL UK Limited deliver high tech solutions to support the most advanced automotive, motorsport and commercial vehicle development programs.
At AVL UK ITS, we offer advanced technical solutions, then integrate them into the facilities and operations of our customers. Our projects range from single system upgrades up to complete development facilities, working with automotive, formula 1, commercial vehicle and other high technology customers. Contract values range from tens of thousands of pounds to over £20 million.
General Description
AVL UK Ltd is looking for a full-time IT Senior Analyst. You’ll be joining our small team where the IT Senior Analyst is the primary point of contact for colleagues reporting issues and seeking advice. Providing high quality customer service in a timely manner is important.
This is a varied position involving both reactive and proactive covering all aspects of IT support. Users are primary on notebook PC and iPhone/iPad equipment and Microsoft software. You’ll be expected to own and manage issues through to resolution for colleagues. As the IT Senior Analyst, you will be tasked with providing all levels of support to colleagues which are split between office based and remote, this will include occasional visits to customer locations. Support all IT systems at AVL UK offices and remote sites ensuring reliability and stability for colleagues, including those using mobile data 4G/5G and Starlink.
Lead local projects, developing processes, equipment refreshes and maintaining server and network infrastructure.
Main Duties, Operational Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing ServiceDesk priorities, meeting colleague expectations and working to deadlines.
- Maintain IT infrastructure and network security across all UK sites.
- Carry out duties compliant with ISO:27001 standards.
- Form and maintain mutually supportive relationships with the IT specialists based at AVL Graz and other AVL affiliates.
- Administer and manage notebooks, desktops, servers, and infrastructure.
- Administer and manage communication systems (Teams, Webex and mobiles).
- Provide technical support to colleagues and management in all IT matters and have ability to research the more complex issues that may arise through to solution.
- Keep up to date with technologies appropriate to the role and to provide proposals on improving existing technology, practices, and procedures within the department.
- IT Project planning, implementation and support to meet delivery deadlines.
- To carry out any other duties as reasonably required commensurate with the nature of the job.
Requirements of the Job
- Min 5 years’ experience in IT Support / IT Servicedesk environment, in a 2nd line support role (some 3rd line knowledge would be of benefit)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with a flexible and positive approach
- Valid UK driving licence and Passport
- Windows 10/11
- Windows Server (physical and virtual) – VMware
- Apple iOS / iPadOS & MDM
- Experience of Active Directory / SharePoint / M365 & Teams
- Experience of conferencing solutions such as Cisco Webex / MS Teams
- Support and troubleshooting of laptop/desktop issues and peripheral devices (inc. printers)
- Asset management
- Ability to prioritise support work and provide clear reports to senior colleagues
- Ability to work autonomously and occasionally out of normal hours
- Ability to manage your time effectively and able to work remotely if required
Additional desirable experience
- Knowledge of LAN fundamentals – routers, switches, firewalls, patching
- Jira / Confluence knowledge
- ISO:27001
- Coding / Programming
