We are looking for an experienced e-Drive Chief Engineer  to lead and coordinate the technical development of advanced e-Drive systems for our company. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical lead of e-Drive projects and of the e-drive development engineers. The focus is on the technical alignment between all technical disciplines. It covers all areas of a typical development and project cycle from acquisition of new projects to engineering and to overseeing the technical direction of the program, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality e-Drive systems that meet customer requirements. In addition, the candidate releases internally e-drive related project/product documentation, components, tools or changes. During the entire development a close communication with the Project Manager and the customer has to be maintained.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Serve as technical authority in e-Drive development projects through provision of technical leadership and direction to ensure the delivery of high-quality e-Drive systems in time that fully meet the customer requirements
  • Support business development and project acquisition by providing expertise in customer meetings and represent AVL‘s technical competency related to e-Drive systems and components
  • Oversee and align definition, development and fulfilment of the requirements/targets/functions for the e-drive resp. components and its integration into the e-drive, powertrain resp. vehicle
  • Ensure cascading, balancing and fulfilment of e-drive requirements with all involved development disciplines.
  • Report technical project status to the e-drive project manager and the customer and gather technical decisions and acceptance from customer
  • Lead the development of e-Drive systems from concept to required maturity level, including the technical management of cross-functional matrix teams
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to e-Drive systems and components, and identify opportunities for improvement, innovation and new business opportunities

 

YOUR PROFILE:

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Several years of professional experience in the development and integration of e-Drive systems, with a proven track record of successful project delivery
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in e-Drive systems, including components such as e-motors, power electronics (e.g. inverters, DCDCs, etc), and e-axles
  • Experience with project management, including budget and resource management, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge about the industrialization process of automotive components
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical and programmatic issues
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, and to meet tight deadlines
