Key Account Manager

AVL Test Systems is hiring a Key Account Manager (KAM) looking to utilize their 7+ years of experience, partnered with the guidance of the Test Systems team to support an essential customer account. Preferred experience will include any of the following; software, test systems, electrification, R&D sales, account management, B2B.
The KAM will report to the Global Account Manager and will work out of AVL's Bloomfield, MI office, including the ability to support hybrid or onsite at the customer (when needed).
The KAM provides a great opportunity for an individual with experience in sales with a passion for developing long-term customer relationships. Direct technical/customer interfacing experience and strong verbal/written communication skills will be required. The potential travel for this opportunity is estimated at 30-50%.
Applicants must have the unrestricted authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.
Roles:
* Account management and customer relationship development for a large OEM account.
* The primary focus is to lead the sale of solutions and products which solve customer needs.
* To help identify and define customer requirements in order for a well-tailored solution to be developed.
* To manage the commercial engagements, relationships, and transactions within the given account and customer
* To define, organize and complete hand-overs to Operations for sales.
* Identification of new organizations and contacts and development of existing contacts.
* Will require periodic account development planning and review of plan with Supervisor.
* Documenting all sales activity in corporate CRM system per standards.
* Follow all ISO sales processes for quotes and proposal generation and tracking.
*To foster and develop excellent working relationships within the customer and AVL
* To help identify new opportunities for business growth through a knowledge of the customer and AVL capability.
Qualifications/Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, engineering, or related area.
* 7+ years of relevant experience, including experience in any of the following; software, test systems, electrification, R&D sales, account management, B2B.
* Experience of Automotive testing in Electric Vehicles and Software Sales preferred.
* Experience with a formal sales process, and CRM system preferred.
* Domestic Travel can range from approximately 30 – 50%, depending on specific account base. Minimal overseas travel required.
* Excellent communication skills including Sales Presentations, Final Contract Negotiation, Conflict Resolution experience.
* Demonstratable self-motivation and proactive skills.
